Question:
Heading down to the Orange Bowl this week to see Clemson play West Virginia.
Last time the Tigers played in the Orange Bowl, what was the final result? Answer:
Stumped everyone so we'll move on. Clemson defeated
Nebraska in the 1982 Orange Bowl, 22-15, over Nebraska to finish 12-0 and win
the 1981 National Championship. We remember it well because before this
undefeated season and the Tiger win over South Carolina in 1980, we attended
Clemson's last loss before their title run when we saw them fall to Maryland,
34-7. Who'd have thunk it?
Next question: Before Ara
Parseghian took over at Notre Dame in 1964 to lead the Fighting Irish to a 9-1
record, where did he coach?
